Champagne Shootout XI
After having the afternoon session of Champagne Shootout X abandoned due to weather (and blowout), the Champagne Shootout Board of Directors felt it necessary to run it back for Champagne Shootout XI - once again returning to Hawks View Golf Club.
Champagne Shootout Liaison to the Board, John Van de Kamp, was chosen as Team Red Captain, opposite his old brother, Tim Van de Kamp, who was chosen as Team Blue Captain. Team Red became known as Team Beard. Team Blue: Team Mustache.
In a back-and-forth contest, Team Beard held a slender 1-point advantage heading into the afternoon Par-3 matchplay session.
After trading blows in the first two matches, Team Beard clinched victory with a match to spare, winning Champagne Shootout XI by the final score of 14-12.
