Champagne Shootout VI

Champagne Shootout VI will go down in history as the closest and (hopefully) most controversial shootout in world history.

June 11th, 2022 saw a field of 24 shooters descend once again on an unsuspecting Sunset Valley Golf Course. The perfect sunny afternoon was split by an incredible rendition of God Save the Queen sung by a rag-tag trio of british shooters. A Shootout consisting of six individual blowouts appeared to be headed for a Team Blue victory only for a last-second scorecard programming error (and an in-situ lack of mental math) to hand the trophy to Team Red by a single hole won after a 12-12 deadlock.

Tempers flared in the pell-mell of the errors’ discovery leading to the shocking resignation of Champagne Shootout CEO, Paul Thibaudeau - a request that was promptly dismissed with extreme predjudice.

While the damage that was done to the Champagne Shootout cannot be undone, or wholly forgiven, the Great Scorecard Debacle of Champagne Shootout VI has led to significant improvement and data integrity that will no doubt benefit future Shootout iterations.
